ic_liveFinally we know what Yoshikis mysterious tweet “8/17 新宿“ (8/17 Shinjuku) means: Today there was a PV shooting for the X Japan version of the Saint Seya song “Hero”.

They had an open air stage set up with their instruments in Shinjuku for the shooting. Lots of fans and other people were able to stand in front of the stage and watch!

ic_liveIn advance to their concerts in Japan and the US, X Japan is re-releasing their best-selling singles collection X Singles, which was originally released in 1993. The re-released album uses the Blu-spec CD 2 (BSCD2) format, which instead of the usual infrared laser, uses a blue laser for recording the pits on the CD master that is needed for disc replication. The blue laser creates more precise pits, reducing distortion in the optical read-out process.

The songs have been remastered by an American mastering engineer Bob Ludwig, who has mastered projects for over 1,300 artists, including Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Coldplay and Daft Punk. His works have won 21 TEC Awards (Technical Excellency and Creativity) and 7 Grammy Awards, including ‘Record of the Year’ for Get Lucky by Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

You can find the tracklist for the album here:
• Kurenai (Single Long Version)
• 20TH CENTURY BOY
• ENDLESS RAIN
• X (Live Version)
• WEEK END
• ENDLESS RAIN
• Silent Jealousy
• Sadistic Desire
• Standing Sex
• Joker
• Say Anything
• Silent Jealousy (Live Version)

You can preorder the album on CDJapan.
