As just announced on YOSHIKI MOBILE’s website, X JAPAN’s World Tour will start in South America, with concerts in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile. The dates and venues will be officially announced soon.
It was also written that X will indeed appear at YOSHIKI’s fashion show “ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION” (short AGE.)

Recently, YOSHIKI announced his collaboration in a fashionshow called “ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION” together with Jay FR. A main focus of the show will be on the music, so VIOLET UK was already mentioned as one of the performing acts, now officially featuring Katie Fitzgerald as their vocalist.
YOSHIKI will also follow in his parents footsteps, who used to own a kimono store, and will present his new project YOSHIKIMONO for the first time. To get an idea of what the show might be like, check out the pictures of the presentation here and here.
Since the first announcement, more details became known, such as SUGIZO taking part and Marilyn Manson will be one of the models. And today YOSHIKI teased his fans on Twitter about X JAPAN possibly joining, too.
“ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION” will be held on March 6th at the first gymnasium of National Yoyogi Stadium and will probably be 2-3 hours long. Oversea audience can purchase their tickets here.
Fashionshow aside, YOSHIKI hinted on X JAPAN appearing at SUMMER SONIC 2011, alongside bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Strokes on August 13th and 14th in Osaka and Tokyo. He also said that their World Tour will most likely start in May 2011, leaving unrevealed if they’d first go to South America, Europe or Japan.

UPDATE: Apparently, X JAPAN’s date in SXSW’s list of participating band was a mistake by the organizers and the band will effectively NOT play at the festival.
Original Post: X Japan is scheduled to play in Austin, Texas on March 19th. As one participant in the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference, they will step on the stage of Rusty Spurs at 1AM, following five other bands.
South by Southwest is an annual set of film, interactive and music festivals and conferences that this year cover 10 days, from March 11th to March 20th, with the music festival starting on the 16th. The music conference is one of the biggest in the USA, with an estimation of almost 2,000 bands preforming last year on over 80 different stages throughout Austin. There will be a conference mainly for the music industry insiders going on during the day and hundreds of bands preforming in the evening/during the night.
The badge that gets you admission to the conference and all of the shows costs $750, but as far as we know, individual shows are available for the general public also, with a walk-in-ticket you can purchase from the venue. However, people with badges get priority, so not everyone might get in.
Also note that we haven’t yet received any confirmation from X Japan about the performance.

As you know, ToshI held two dinner concerts with YOSHIKI (and also HEATH and Shinya) as special guests on January 24th and 25th. The concerts were a huge success and you can read about the setlists and its upcoming DVD release here.
But there’s more! One of our reporters attended the first concert and graced us with a thrilling report. You can read it here!
